VI. 10.1 Purpose
To describe a system for specifying and monitoring proper handling preservation, storage, packaging and shipping practices to protect the quality
of the deliverable products and to prevent their damage, deterioration and degradation.
VI.10.2. Application
Applies to all materials and deliverable products.
VI.10.3. Procedure
10.3.1 Engineering is responsible for specifications pertaining to the proper handling, preservation, storage, packaging and shipping of the goods to
protect quality and prevent damage.
10.3.2. All personnel are responsible for the handling of goods throughout the process to assure that both specified and common sense practices are
begin adhered to.
10.3.3. Quality Assurance shall provide the adequate inspection instructions for material handling and storage.
10.3.4. Quality Assurance are responsible for periodically, and random, auditing the storage of goods to assure that the respective procedure are
begin followed, the specified environment are begin maintained, the goods are being properly rotated, the obsolete and out-of-date good are being
removed and properly identified.
10.3.5. Manufacturing supervision is responsible for overseeing the proper packaging of finished goods prior to shipment; this includes making sure
that packaging specifications are being complied with and that all interior and exterior containers are properly marked.
10.3.6. Production control supervision is responsible for overseeing the proper shipping of the goods, including verifying that the shipping documents
are correct and properly handled,that containers are properly loaded and secured in shipping documents are correct and properly handled, that containers
are properly loaded and secured in shipping vehicles and vehicles and that Customer regulations and other applicable regulations are bring complied with.
10.3.7. Quality Assurance shall audit shipping practices to assure that goods shipped are accompanied with required documents, being packaged to customer
standards as defined by contact.
