Calibration of Inspection and Test Instrument¡@

VI.6.1. Purpose
To specify the responsibilities for controlling the accuracy of measuring and test equipment and measurement standards so as to assure that products delivered to customers conforms to the specified requirements.

VI.6.2. Scope
Applied to all measuring and test equipment used in the company.

VI.6.3. Procedure
6.3.1. Quality Assurance Department is responsible for the company wide measuring and equipment and devices control, calibration system setup and implementation.
6.3.2. All measuring and test equipment instruments and devices used to determine any characteristic conformance to specified requirements are to be calibrated. This calibration is to occur at regularly scheduled intervals determined on the basis of stability, purpose and sage, or sooner if there is some reason to believe that the instrument or device need recalibration.
6.3.3. Prior to use fro products acceptance. All measuring and test equipment devices shall be calibrated to working measurement standards or secondary measurement standards, these calibrated of master in-house standard which are certified by the National Bureau of Standards.
6.3.4. Calibration records are to be maintained that identify each item of device, measurement standards, and list the date each instance of calibration, citing measurements and adjustments. The records are to be able to demonstrate tractability of the calibration work to the National Bureau Standards.
6.3.5. All instruments, devices must be labeled and indicated the date of calibration, the expiration, the signature of technician who preformed the calibration. If the item is too small for this type of marking, an alternative method shall be applied.
6.3.6. Departments using measuring and test equipment are responsible fro monitoring calibration due dates and submitting instruments and devices for calibration on schedule.
6.3.7. Calibration of measuring and test instrument shall be in accordance with MIL-C-45662.
6.3.8. Unless otherwise specified, all calibration records shall be maintained for a period of at least three (3) years, the record of devices which are used as in-house master standards, must be maintained as long as its expiration as master standards.
6.3.9. The environment where measuring and test equipment and device are to be both calibrated used must be controlled to the extent necessary to assure required accuracy, with consideration given to temperature, humidity, vibration, cleanliness and controllable factors.
6.3.10. If any device or equipment is found to be out of calibration, it shall be immediately withdrawn from service and a label of out of service description shall be attached to ti. It shall then be removed to a secure area in QA pending replacement and / or repair as appropriate.
